Lunar New Year should be an official holiday.

Lunar New Year holds profound cultural significance for millions around the world, symbolizing not just the start of a new year but a time for familial reunion, reflection, and renewal of traditions. For many Asian American and Pacific Islander families, Lunar New Year represents a cornerstone of their cultural identity, carrying with it centuries-old customs and rituals passed down through generations.

Our petition urging Woodbridge local town officials to recognize Lunar New Year as an official holiday has garnered over 200 signatures, reflecting widespread support for embracing the cultural significance of this event within our community. By granting official recognition to Lunar New Year, we affirm our commitment to inclusivity and honoring the diverse traditions that enrich our town.
